Philip Samuelsson is a former professional ice hockey defenseman born on July 26, 1991, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. He played junior hockey in the United States Hockey League (USHL) for the Indiana Ice before moving to collegiate hockey with the Boston University Terriers. Samuelsson was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round, 61st overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
During his professional career, Samuelsson played in both the NHL and the American Hockey League (AHL). He made his NHL debut with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2013-2014 season and subsequently played for the team on a limited basis.
