Pit Martin, born on December 9, 1943, in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, was a professional ice hockey player known for his versatility on the ice. He played as a center and left winger, making significant contributions to his teams throughout his career. Martin was drafted 16th overall by the Chicago Black Hawks in the 1963 NHL Amateur Draft and quickly established himself as a skilled forward.
During his 14-season NHL career, Martin played for several teams, including the Chicago Black Hawks, New York Rangers, and the Atlanta Flames. He achieved notable success with the Black Hawks, where he was part of the 1969-70 team that reached the playoffs and amassed impressive seasonal statistics, including a career-high 72 points in the 1970-71 season.
