Pone Kingpetch, born on February 12, 1935, in Bangkok, Thailand, was a renowned Thai professional boxer who made significant contributions to the sport during the mid-20th century. He started his boxing career in the 1950s and quickly gained recognition for his speed, agility, and technical prowess in the ring. Kingpetch fought primarily in the flyweight division and became a national hero for his achievements.
In 1960, Kingpetch won the World Flyweight Championship, becoming the first Thai boxer to secure a world title. He successfully defended his title three times, showcasing his skills against various international opponents. His notable victories include a series of matches against the legendary Japanese boxer, Yuichi Komatsu, which further solidified his status in the boxing community.
