Ralph Metcalfe was an American track and field athlete born on May 29, 1910, in Atlanta, Georgia. He gained prominence as a sprinter, particularly in the 100 meters and 200 meters events. Metcalfe achieved national recognition by winning multiple titles in the NCAA sprint competitions during his collegiate career at Marquette University.
