Randy Turpin was a British professional boxer born on June 7, 1928, in Leamington Spa, United Kingdom. He rose to prominence in the 1950s and gained international acclaim for his remarkable skill and determination inside the ring. Turpin is best known for winning the World Middleweight title, achieving this feat on July 13, 1951, when he defeated the legendary Sugar Ray Robinson in a shocking upset.
Turpin successfully defended his title once before losing it to Robinson in a rematch in 1952.
