Biography
Randy Velischek, born on February 10, 1962, in Fort Frances, Ontario, is a retired Canadian ice hockey defenceman known for his strong two-way play and physical presence on the ice. He was drafted in the second round, 30th overall, by the New Jersey Devils in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft after a successful junior career with the Fort Frances Thunderhawks and later with the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Velischek made his NHL debut during the 1983-84 season and quickly established himself as a reliable defenseman.
Throughout his eight-season NHL career, Velischek played for several teams, including the New Jersey Devils, Minnesota North Stars, and the Philadelphia Flyers.
