Ranjan Madugalle, born on April 22, 1959, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is a former cricketer and a prominent figure in Sri Lankan cricket history. He played as a right-handed batsman and represented the Sri Lankan national team from 1982 to 1996. Madugalle participated in the inaugural Cricket World Cup for Sri Lanka in 1975 and was part of the squad that emerged victorious in the 1996 World Cup.

During his international career, Madugalle amassed over 5,500 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs), establishing himself as one of the leading run-scorers for his country in limited-overs cricket. His Test career was equally impressive, where he contributed significantly with both the bat and in the field, including taking over 75 catches as a fielder.
