Ray Bentley, born on November 25, 1960, is a former professional American football player who played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Bentley was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round of the 1983 NFL Draft following a standout collegiate career at the University of California, Berkeley. He quickly established himself as a key player in the Bills' defense during the mid-1980s.
Throughout his NFL career, Bentley played for the Buffalo Bills (1983–1986) and the Atlanta Falcons (1987–1989). He is best known for his contributions to the Bills' defense during their rise to prominence, which culminated in a Super Bowl appearance in the 1990 season.
