Biography
Reggie P. Lewis (born December 21, 1965) was an American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) primarily for the New England Patriots. A standout at Boston College, Lewis earned All-American honors and was selected by the Patriots in the third round of the 1987 NFL Draft. Throughout his five-season career, he established himself as a reliable target, recording over 2,000 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns.
Lewis had notable performances during his tenure with the Patriots, including a pivotal role in the team's playoff run in the early 1990s. His sharp route-running and strong hands made him a key player in the Patriots' offensive scheme, culminating in a career-best season in 1990, when he amassed 1,006 receiving yards, becoming the first wide receiver in franchise history to surpass the 1,000-yard mark in a single season. Unfortunately, his career was cut short due to health issues, leading to his retirement in 1993.
