Renaldo Nehemiah, born on March 24, 1959, is a notable former American football wide receiver and hurdler. He gained prominence in both sports, showcasing exceptional speed and agility that contributed to his athletic success. Nehemiah first achieved recognition as a track star, earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic team for the 1980 Moscow Games, although he did not compete due to the U.S. boycott.
Transitioning to professional football, Nehemiah was selected in the first round of the 1982 NFL Supplemental Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He made an immediate impact in the league, utilizing his world-class sprinting ability to become a deep threat on the field. Over his four-season career in the NFL, he recorded 143 receptions, 2,848 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns, contributing to the 49ers' offensive prowess during the early years of their dynasty.
