Rich Barry is an American former professional basketball player known for his scoring prowess and playmaking ability. Born on July 28, 1944, in Miami Beach, Florida, Barry played college basketball at Miami Dade College before transferring to the University of Miami. He garnered attention for his exceptional performance as a guard, earning All-American honors and leading the Hurricanes to notable victories in the early 1960s.

After a successful collegiate career, Barry was selected by the San Francisco Warriors in the first round of the 1965 NBA Draft. Over his 14-year professional career, he played for the Warriors, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Atlanta Hawks, becoming a six-time NBA All-Star and earning selections to the All-NBA Team. Barry is particularly remembered for his unique shooting technique and scoring ability, ranking as one of the league’s top scorers during his prime.
