Rich English is a former professional basketball player born on March 12, 1987, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He played college basketball at the University of Michigan, where he was recognized for his scoring ability and leadership on the court. During his collegiate career, English was named to the All-Big Ten First Team in 2008 and helped lead his team to the NCAA Tournament.

Following his college career, English was selected in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets. He spent several seasons in the NBA, playing for teams such as the Hornets, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Chicago Bulls, where he earned a reputation as a sharpshooter and strong perimeter defender. Over his career, English averaged 12.3 points per game and achieved a career high of 25 points in a single game against the Miami Heat in 2011.
