Biography

Rich Hunger is a former professional basketball player, best known for his remarkable career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Born on March 15, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan, Hunger gained recognition for his exceptional scoring ability and versatility as a guard. He played college basketball at the University of Michigan, where he was instrumental in leading the team to multiple NCAA tournament appearances.

Hunger was selected as the 12th overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. Throughout his seven-season NBA career, he played for the Knicks, as well as the Sacramento Kings and the Seattle SuperSonics. He was known for his clutch performances, having achieved career averages of 15.3 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game while earning an All-Star selection in 1991.

After retiring from professional basketball in 1994, Hunger transitioned into coaching and sports commentary, leaving a lasting impact on the basketball community.
