Biography
Richard Sevigny (born April 11, 1957) is a former Canadian ice hockey goaltender who had a notable career in professional hockey during the 1970s and 1980s. He played junior hockey in the QMJHL for the Montreal Junior Canadiens, where his performance earned him recognition as one of the top goaltenders of his era. Sevigny was selected 40th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft.
Throughout his professional career, Sevigny played for the Montreal Canadiens, Quebec Nordiques, and the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League (NHL), as well as in various minor leagues. He became known for his agile playing style and quick reflexes, contributing to his teams' defensive strength. Sevigny recorded significant achievements during his career, including a Calder Cup championship with the Nova Scotia Voyageurs in the AHL.
