Richie Petitbon, born on April 18, 1938, in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, is a former American football player and coach, best known for his tenure as a defensive back in the National Football League (NFL). Petitbon played college football at the University of Maryland, where he excelled as a standout defensive player. He was selected by the Chicago Bears in the 1959 NFL Draft, beginning a professional career that would span over a decade.
During his time with the Bears from 1959 to 1966, Petitbon established himself as a key member of the team’s defensive unit, contributing to their success and earning multiple Pro Bowl selections.
