Rick Blight, born on October 17, 1955, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey player known for his dynamic play as a forward. He began his junior career with the Regina Pats in the Western Canada Junior Hockey League (WCJHL), where his scoring ability quickly garnered attention from scouts. Blight was selected in the first round, 18th overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft.
Over his six-season career in the National Hockey League (NHL), Blight played for the Vancouver Canucks and the New York Rangers, showcasing his talent on the ice with notable offensive contributions. His most productive season came in 1976-77 when he recorded 21 goals and 23 assists, finishing as one of the team's top scorers.
