Biography
Rick Rypien was a Canadian professional ice hockey player, born on May 16, 1984, in Roblin, Manitoba. He played as a forward and was known for his tenacity and fighting ability. Rypien was drafted in the fourth round, 94th overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Rypien made his NHL debut with the Canucks during the 2005-2006 season and quickly established himself as an enforcer, playing a significant role in team dynamics through physical play and aggressive energy. Over the course of his NHL career, he played a total of 119 games, also spending time with the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League, where he developed a reputation as a skilled player off the puck in addition to his fighting prowess.
