Biography
Rick Tocchet, born on April 9, 1964, in Russell, Ontario, Canada, is a retired professional ice hockey player and current coach. Tocchet was selected in the sixth round, 148th overall, of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Over his 18-year NHL career, he played for multiple teams, including the Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins, and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Tocchet was known for his physical playing style, scoring ability, and leadership on the ice. He achieved notable career milestones, including a 1992 Stanley Cup championship with the Penguins and reaching the 1987 Canada Cup finals with Team Canada. Throughout his career, Tocchet accumulated over 950 points, establishing himself as a respected player within the league and one of the premier power forwards of his era.
After retiring as a player, Tocchet transitioned to coaching and served in various roles in the NHL, including head coach of the Arizona Coyotes.
