Biography
Rick Zombo, born on May 8, 1963, in the United States, is a former professional ice hockey defenseman. He gained prominence during his collegiate career at Michigan State University, where he played for the Spartans from 1981 to 1985. Zombo was selected 143rd overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft, which marked the beginning of his professional career.
Zombo made his NHL debut with the Flyers in the 1986-87 season, later playing significant portions of his career with teams such as the St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and the Winnipeg Jets. He was known for his solid defensive play and physical presence on the ice, contributing both offensively and defensively throughout his tenure in the league. Over his career, he played in a total of 436 regular-season NHL games and participated in 74 playoff games.
