Rod Sarich, born on March 23, 1981, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is a retired professional ice hockey player known for his role as a defenseman. He began his junior career with the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he showcased his defensive prowess and physical play, making a significant impact in the league during the late 1990s. Sarich was drafted 219th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 7th round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
