Rod Washington is a former professional basketball player known for his prolific scoring and playmaking abilities. Born on May 12, 1987, in Atlanta, Georgia, Washington gained recognition as a standout player during his high school years at Atlanta High School, where he led his team to a state championship. He subsequently played college basketball at the University of Georgia, where he earned All-SEC honors and was a key contributor to the team's success, averaging over 18 points per game in his senior year.
After declaring for the NBA Draft, Washington was selected in the second round by the Miami Heat in 2009. Throughout his six-year professional career, he played for several teams, including the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, and New Orleans Pelicans, establishing himself as a reliable shooting guard. Washington’s best season came in 2011 when he recorded career-high averages of 20.5 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game, earning him a spot in the NBA All-Star Game.
