Rolf Benirschke, born on February 7, 1955, is a former American football placekicker who played in the National Football League (NFL) primarily for the San Diego Chargers. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he established himself as a proficient kicker, earning All-American honors during his college career. Benirschke was selected by the Chargers in the fifth round of the 1977 NFL Draft, beginning a tenure that would span nearly a decade.
Benirschke's career in the NFL is highlighted by his impressive kicking accuracy and remarkable resilience.
