Roman Erat (born May 12, 1979) is a retired professional ice hockey player from the Czech Republic, renowned for his contributions to the sport both domestically and internationally. Erat began his professional career with HC Kometa Brno in the Czech Extraliga, where his exceptional skills as a forward quickly garnered attention. His strong offensive play and ability to read the game enabled him to make a seamless transition to North American hockey.
In the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Erat was selected in the second round, 191st overall, by the Nashville Predators.
