Leati Joseph Anoa'i, better known as Roman Reigns, was born on May 25, 1985, in Pensacola, Florida. Before entering the world of professional wrestling, he pursued a career in American football, playing as a defensive tackle at Georgia Tech. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the NFL's Minnesota Vikings in 2007 and later had brief stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League.

In 2010, Roman Reigns transitioned to professional wrestling, debuting with WWE's developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, where he first captured the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship. He gained widespread recognition as part of the faction The Shield, alongside Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, which debuted in 2012 and quickly became one of the most dominant forces in WWE, capturing multiple championships and solidifying their legacy in wrestling history.
