Ron Hanson is a former professional basketball player known for his versatility and impact on both college and professional levels. Born on December 15, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska, he excelled at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he played for the Cornhuskers from 1964 to 1968. Hanson was recognized for his skills as a forward and earned All-American honors during his collegiate career.

After his success in college, Hanson was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the 1968 NBA Draft. He played several seasons in the NBA, primarily with the Bulls and later with the Houston Rockets and Kansas City Kings, showcasing his ability both as a scorer and a defensive player. Throughout his career, he averaged 9.8 points per game and was known for his high basketball IQ and sportsmanship on the court.
