Ron Newhook is a Canadian ice hockey athlete born on August 9, 1977, in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. He began his junior hockey career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the St. John's Maple Leafs, where he quickly garnered attention for his scoring ability and playmaking skills. Newhook’s performance in juniors set the stage for his transition to professional hockey.
After being drafted in the 2nd round, 16th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, Newhook made his NHL debut in the 1998-99 season.
