Ronald Dumars, born on May 24, 1963, in Shreveport, Louisiana, is a retired professional basketball player known for his successful career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Primarily recognized as a shooting guard, Dumars played the entirety of his 14-season career with the Detroit Pistons after being selected as the 18th overall pick in the 1985 NBA Draft. He quickly established himself as a key contributor to the team, known for his defensive prowess and ability to perform in clutch situations.
Dumars was instrumental in leading the Pistons to back-to-back NBA Championships in 1989 and 1990, earning Finals MVP honors in 1990 after a standout performance.
