Roy Dias, born on October 18, 1952, in Sri Lanka, is a former cricketer who represented the national team in both Test and One Day International (ODI) formats. He debuted internationally in 1977 and played a significant role in the development of Sri Lankan cricket during its formative years. Dias is particularly noted for his batting prowess and left a lasting impact on the sport in the country.
During his career, Dias played in 33 Test matches from 1977 to 1986, accumulating over 1,400 runs with an average of 40.33, including three centuries. In ODIs, he participated in 89 matches, scoring more than 2,000 runs with a batting average of 39.01 and achieving four centuries.
