Roy Riegels (April 4, 1908 – January 7, 1993) was an American football player who gained notoriety for his pivotal role as a center and linebacker during the early years of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of California, Berkeley, where he became widely recognized for his athletic talents. Riegels is perhaps most famous for the "Wrong Way Bowl" in the 1929 Rose Bowl, where he accidentally ran 69 yards in the wrong direction, a moment that has become a notable part of college football lore.
