Ruslan Chagaev, born on October 19, 1978, in Andijan, Uzbekistan, is a retired professional boxer who competed in the heavyweight division. He began his boxing career in the late 1990s and quickly made a name for himself through his impressive amateur record, which included a gold medal at the 1997 World Amateur Boxing Championships. Chagaev turned professional in 2001 and quickly established himself as a formidable contender in the heavyweight landscape.
