Russ Beisswanger is a former professional basketball player born on December 20, 1942, in New Holstein, Wisconsin. He played college basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was a standout guard and earned All-America honors in 1965. Following his collegiate career, Beisswanger was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1965 NBA Draft, marking the beginning of his professional journey.

Beisswanger played three seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), primarily for the 76ers and the Baltimore Bullets.
