Biography
Ryan Kerrigan, born on August 16, 1988, in Muncie, Indiana, is a former professional American football player who played as a linebacker and defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). He attended Purdue University, where he distinguished himself as a standout defensive player, leading to his selection as the 16th overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Washington Football Team (now known as the Washington Commanders).
During his ten-year tenure with Washington, Kerrigan became the franchise's all-time leader in sacks, amassing a total of 95.5 sacks over his career with the team. He was selected to the Pro Bowl three times (2012, 2015, and 2016) and earned a reputation for his relentless pass-rushing capability and defensive versatility, solidifying his status as one of the premier edge rushers of his era.
In 2021, Kerrigan signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he continued to contribute to the defensive unit.
