Ryan Sproul is a Canadian ice hockey defenseman, born on January 13, 1993, in Mississauga, Ontario. He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round, 61st overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft after showing promise in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Soo Greyhounds, where he developed his skills and garnered attention for his offensive abilities from the blue line.
Sproul made his NHL debut with the Detroit Red Wings during the 2013-14 season and played several games for the team over the subsequent years.
