Biography
Ryane Clowe is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey forward, born on September 30, 1982, in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. He was drafted 175th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft but ultimately made his NHL debut with the San Jose Sharks during the 2005–06 season. Clowe established himself as a versatile power forward, known for his physical play and scoring ability, contributing significantly to the Sharks during his tenure with the team.
Throughout his career, Clowe played a total of 392 NHL games, amassing 104 goals and 144 assists for 248 points. His most notable season came in 2012, when he recorded career-high totals of 24 goals and 62 points, earning him an All-Star selection. After a successful stint in San Jose, Clowe also played for the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils before retiring in 2014 due to concussions.
Clowe's legacy in the NHL is marked by his gritty style of play and leadership qualities, as he served as an alternate captain for the Sharks.
