Sally Skeldon is a retired professional basketball player who gained recognition for her exceptional skills as a point guard during her career, spanning from 2005 to 2020. Born on March 15, 1985, in Portland, Oregon, Skeldon developed a passion for the sport at an early age, playing for her high school team before earning a scholarship to the University of Oregon. While at Oregon, she set several records, including most assists in a single season, and was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team multiple times.
Skeldon's professional career began when she was drafted by the Seattle Storm in the 2007 WNBA Draft. Over the next decade, she played for several teams, including the Storm, Atlanta Dream, and Chicago Sky, accumulating over 4,000 career points and becoming known for her leadership on and off the court. Notably, she was a two-time WNBA All-Star and won a championship with the Atlanta Dream in 2014, further cementing her legacy in the league.
Following her retirement in 2020, Skeldon transitioned into coaching, taking on a role as an assistant coach for a college team while also focusing on community outreach programs aimed at promoting women's sports. Her contributions to basketball have been recognized through various awards, and she has been inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame for her impact on the sport and her efforts to inspire future generations of athletes.
