Sam Mills (born June 3, 1959) was a prominent NFL linebacker, renowned for his tenacity and leadership on the field. He began his professional career in the United States Football League (USFL) with the Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars before transitioning to the NFL, where he played for the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers. Despite being undersized for his position at 5 feet 9 inches, Mills proved to be an effective tackle and a vocal leader, earning respect throughout the league.
During his NFL career, Mills was recognized for his exceptional defensive skills, resulting in multiple Pro Bowl selections. He was named to the NFL’s All-Pro team in 1987 and 1991, showcasing his ability to compete at the highest level.
