Sammy White, born on March 16, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a former professional American football wide receiver who had a notable career in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Grambling State University, where he emerged as a standout performer, showcasing exceptional speed and agility. White was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round of the 1976 NFL Draft and quickly established himself as a key player on the team.
Over his career, White became known for his remarkable receiving skills and ability to make electrifying plays. He played a significant role in the Vikings' offense throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, highlighted by his participation in four pro bowls and helping the team reach Super Bowl IX and Super Bowl XI.
