Scott Stevens, born on April 1, 1964, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey defenseman widely regarded for his physical style of play and leadership on the ice. He was selected fifth overall by the Washington Capitals in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, beginning a remarkable career that spanned nearly two decades.
