Sean Mahan is a former American football center born on March 28, 1980, in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. He played college football at the University of Michigan, where he was part of a team that won multiple Big Ten championships and participated in the Rose Bowl. Mahan was selected in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
During his professional career, Mahan played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2003–2004), Pittsburgh Steelers (2005–2008), and the New Orleans Saints (2009). He is best known for his tenure with the Steelers, where he contributed to the team's victory in Super Bowl XLIII, helping to secure their sixth championship.
