Sergey Akimov (born October 15, 1976) is a retired Russian professional ice hockey player known for his contributions to the sport during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Primarily a left winger, he began his career in the Russian Superleague, where he quickly gained recognition for his scoring ability and on-ice vision. Akimov's early years included stints with notable teams such as HC Spartak Moscow, where he developed into a skilled offensive player.
Throughout his career, Akimov played for various teams in multiple leagues, including the Russian Superleague and the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected 187th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft but spent much of his professional tenure in Europe, competing in leagues such as the Finnish SM-liiga and the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).
