Born in January 1998 in Chicago, Illinois, Munson developed a passion for basketball at a young age, quickly establishing herself as a standout player during her high school career at Lincoln Park High School. Her performance earned her several accolades, including All-State honors and recognition as a McDonald's All-American nominee.
Attending the University of North Carolina, Munson continued to excel in basketball, playing as a guard for the Tar Heels from 2016 to 2020.
