Shelli Surma is a retired American basketball athlete known for her exceptional skills and contributions to the sport during her collegiate and professional career. Born in 1985 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Surma gained recognition as a standout player at Lakeville High School, where she led her team to state championships and earned numerous accolades, including All-State honors.
Following her impressive high school career, Surma played for the University of Minnesota from 2003 to 2007. During her tenure, she became the team's all-time leader in assists and was instrumental in leading the Golden Gophers to multiple NCAA tournament appearances. Her performance garnered her All-Big Ten selections and solidified her reputation as one of the program's most talented point guards.
