Sidney Pothecary was a prominent English cricketer born on September 26, 1886, in Westminster, London. He was known for his prowess as a left-handed batsman and right-arm medium-pace bowler. Pothecary made his first-class debut for Surrey in 1906 and quickly established himself as a key player in the team.
Throughout his career, which spanned over a decade, Pothecary played 287 first-class matches and scored more than 13,000 runs, with a highest score of 262 not out. His contributions with the ball were equally significant, claiming over 300 wickets in his career. He also represented the England national team, earning his Test cap in 1920 against the West Indies.
