Biography
Slava Voynov, born on January 15, 1990, in Chelyabinsk, Russia, is a former professional ice hockey defenseman known for his playing tenure in the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Drafted in the second round, 32nd overall, by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Voynov made an immediate impact in the league, showcasing his skillset as a two-way defenseman. He quickly established himself as a key player for the Kings during the team’s successful playoff runs.
Voynov’s career reached its zenith during the 2011-2012 NHL season when he played an integral role in helping the Kings secure their first-ever Stanley Cup championship.
