Spencer Carbery, born on November 9, 1981, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey player and current head coach in the National Hockey League (NHL). A right winger, Carbery played junior hockey with the Cowichan Valley Capitals in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) before moving to the United States, where he attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was never drafted into the NHL but played a significant role in the minor leagues, particularly in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and the American Hockey League (AHL).
Carbery’s professional playing career spanned from 2003 to 2011, during which he played for various teams, including the South Carolina Stingrays and the Hershey Bears. He achieved modest success in the AHL, winning the Calder Cup with the Hershey Bears in 2010.
