Biography
Stéphane Waite, born on December 4, 1965, in LaSalle, Quebec, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey goaltender and a notable figure in the sport. Waite was drafted in the second round, 33rd overall, by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He spent parts of five seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) playing for the Blackhawks, the New York Islanders, and the Montreal Canadiens.
During his NHL career, Waite played in a total of 149 regular-season games, achieving a win-loss record of 41-56 with a goals-against average (GAA) of 3.74. Although he did not capture a Stanley Cup as a player, Waite gained recognition in the league for his strong work ethic and competitive spirit.
