Biography
Steve McLendon, born on January 3, 1986, in Rosedale, Mississippi, is a former professional American football player who played primarily as a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He attended Troy University, where he excelled on the collegiate football team, showcasing his talents and paving the way for his professional career. McLendon went undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft but was quickly signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Over seven seasons with the Steelers, McLendon established himself as a reliable player, contributing to the team's strong defensive lineup. He was recognized for his work ethic and ability to occupy blockers, which allowed his teammates to make plays. In 2015, he played a critical role in the Steelers’ journey to the playoffs, where they ultimately reached the divisional round.
After his tenure with Pittsburgh, McLendon signed with the New York Jets in 2016, further extending his NFL career.
