Steve Niehaus, born on September 25, 1954, in Blue Island, Illinois, is a former professional American football defensive end. He gained national recognition while playing college football at the University of Notre Dame, where he was a First-Team All-American in 1975. Niehaus' exceptional performance in college football led to his selection as the second overall pick in the 1976 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
During his professional career, Niehaus played four seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Seahawks and later with the New Orleans Saints.
