Biography
Steve Ott, born on August 19, 1982, in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador, is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. Drafted in the first round, 25th overall, by the Dallas Stars in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Ott quickly established himself as a versatile forward known for his tenacity and leadership abilities. He played Major Junior Hockey with the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) before making his NHL debut with the Stars during the 2002-03 season.
Throughout his NHL career, Ott suited up for several teams, including the Dallas Stars, Buffalo Sabres, St. Louis Blues, and the Detroit Red Wings, tallying a total of 118 goals and 139 assists over 726 games. He was recognized for his role as an enforcer and a skilled penalty killer, contributing both offensively and defensively. One of his notable achievements includes being named the captain of the Sabres during his time in Buffalo, where he earned respect for his work ethic and commitment to the game.
