Steve Poapst is a former professional ice hockey defenseman from Canada, born on January 3, 1969. He was a standout player at the junior level, where he honed his skills in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Ottawa 67's, before being selected in the 6th round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.
